at a crucial in the lives of our children and teenagers
always preserving the essence that defines Bmum.
This unit is designed to address the neurodevelopmental needs that may arise at a crucial moment in our children’s lives, in a fully personalised way — taking time to listen, so we can offer the right approach with comprehensive, coordinated follow-up between the different professionals involved in each case.
At Bmum we treat children from 0 to 18 years of age.
The consultation at Bmum: your safe space for neurodevelopment
At Bmum, the Neurodevelopment Area is a specialised space dedicated to supporting children’s neurological, motor, cognitive and emotional development from a clinical, respectful and personalised perspective.
Here we do not just assess developmental milestones or specific difficulties; we understand the child as a whole, taking into account their history, their family environment and their stage of development. Our goal is to detect early, provide clear guidance and support families with professional rigour and human warmth.
The Neurodevelopment consultation is a space for listening, assessment and continuous support. A place where families can share their concerns, resolve questions and feel supported at every step, always respecting each child’s pace and needs.

Family intervention
Family intervention is aimed at understanding and addressing the difficulties that can arise in family dynamics, taking into account the child’s stage of development and the context in which they are growing up. We start with an initial joint session with the family, which allows us to listen to their concerns, learn their history and understand how day-to-day relationships are organised.
From this assessment, we analyse the case from a global, respectful perspective, identifying both the difficulties and the resources present in the family. Depending on their needs, we propose family sessions working on aspects such as communication, boundaries, emotional regulation or understanding certain behaviours.
Our aim is not to look for someone to blame, but to offer clear, tailored guidance that facilitates real changes in family life. In many cases, introducing specific guidelines adapted to each family can significantly improve the situation in a short period of time.
The whole process is carried out with closeness, respect and collaboration, strengthening the family’s role as the child’s main source of support and wellbeing.
Paediatric Neurology
Specialised neurological assessment in childhood
Bmum’s Paediatric Neurology area is dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis and follow-up of nervous system disorders in childhood, from a rigorous clinical perspective that respects each stage of growth.
We see general paediatric neurology consultations, addressing neurological symptoms, neurological disorders and clinical questions that may arise during childhood. Our goal is to detect early, provide clear guidance and support families through diagnostic and follow-up processes, always safeguarding their peace of mind.
The neuropaediatric team at Bmum Neurodevelopment works in coordination with the area’s different specialists (occupational therapy, early stimulation, speech therapy, psychology, etc.) to speed up the diagnosis and treatment of the various neurodevelopmental disorders (learning disorders, ADHD, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, sleep disorders and other conditions affecting brain development).

Why is it important?
Neurodevelopment is key in the first stages of life, when the brain is in the midst of maturing. At Bmum we assess and support children’s neurological development from an early age, detecting potential difficulties and designing personalised intervention plans that foster their progress and wellbeing.
The Bmum Neurodevelopment Area is a specialised space dedicated to assessing and supporting children’s neurological, motor, cognitive and emotional development. Its goal is to understand how each child is developing in relation to their age, history and environment, offering professional guidance and follow-up when needed.
It is advisable to come when there are doubts about a child’s development, delays in reaching milestones, difficulties with language, behaviour, attention or learning, or when the family senses that something “doesn’t quite fit” and needs a specialised assessment.
While general paediatrics addresses the child’s overall health, the Neurodevelopment Area focuses specifically on how the child is developing neurologically, motorically, cognitively and emotionally, with a deeper look sustained over time.
Paediatric Neurology provides the specialised medical assessment of the nervous system and neurological development. It helps guide diagnoses, rule out neurological conditions and establish clinical follow-up plans when necessary.
Yes. Supporting the family is an essential part of the Neurodevelopment Area. Answering questions, providing clear information and helping families understand the process are all part of the care.
No. They are independent areas. Paediatric Neurology covers the medical neurological assessment; the Neurodevelopment Area steps in when a specific therapeutic approach is required.
In the event of seizures, persistent headaches, alterations in muscle tone or movement, behavioural changes or neurological concerns.
